Please note that in May 2023 , Terra Nova Books was acquired by Mango Moon Media. We continue to work with Marty Gerber, Terra Nova Books' editor and now offer authors a host of marketing options. We look forward to receiving your manuscript.
---- Terra Nova Books is now accepting previously unpublished manuscripts, with a special emphasis on health, wellness, and nutrition; and books dealing with Southwestern topics. Other current areas of consideration are memoir, fiction, creative non-fiction, and young reader titles. However, we are not seeking poetry, novellas, or short stories at this time. Please submit an outline of your book, chapter summaries, and two sample chapters, including the first, along with a cover letter outlining the intended audience for your work, the marketing you believe will reach this audience most successfully, and your own planned role in these efforts. Include a short resume of your own publishing, personal, and professional history. A literary agent is not required for submission to Terra Nova. It is not necessary for you to register or copyright your work. Allow two to three weeks for our editors to review your manuscript. |
Read what our authors have to say about Terra Nova Books:
Terra Nova is a creative, professional publisher. The editors had comprehensive ideas that covered areas I had not considered, and they did that as a matter of course—hard copy, ebook, media coverage, press release, to name the important ones. We had a real working relationship. My book is launched in the best possible way. --Earl Kessler, Author of Letters from Alfonso : Learning to Listen In the fast, ever-changing world of digital publishing, Terra Nova Books offered an established author like myself safe harbor. The small but growing publisher is adept at design, editing, and marketing a variety of books. With my novel, The Reconstruction of Wilson Ryder, it provided the social media savvy and insights to expose a literary book to the right marketplace. --Michael French, Author of The Reconstruction of Wilson Ryder and over 20 other books Terra Nova helped me put out a quality product. The editor has a good eye for catching inconsistencies and a good ear for language. My book cover came out great, and the publisher was open to my suggestions. —R. Douglas Clark, Author of American Odyssey It's my pleasure to recommend Terra Nova to anyone wishing to publish a book. Marty is the best to work with, a great editor, and gets the book back to you in a timely manner. The final product is high quality, well finished, with a prize-winning cover. If you're ready to publish, consider Terra Nova Books. I think you'll be quite happy with the results. —Michele Heeney Author of The Polka Dot Chair and The Monkey Tree I was pleased with the book that Terra Nova published for me. The company gave me painstaking editing, clean design, and quick production. —Wally Gordon Author of A Reporter’s World I have truly enjoyed my working relationship with Terra Nova Books. The editors are quite professional and timely in their interactions with their authors. This is my fifth book, and this one has been the most pleasant editorial relationship I have ever experienced. I highly recommend them; their skill, professionalism, and supportiveness are unparalleled. —Elaine Leeder Author of My Life with Lifers I found Marty Gerber’s editing skills and his insights on the development of my book invaluable. Editors who take the time and interest to ensure that your book is the best it can be are rare, and I would recommend Marty to any author. —Tom Sedar Author of The Gold of St. Croix Marty Gerber is a writer’s best friend—a wise, honest, and market-savvy editor. —Sarah Lovett Co-author with Valerie Plame of Blowback Marty Gerber was a tremendous help in all aspects of my memoir—planning it, organizing it, and especially in the writing. —Marilyn Martinez Author of Battling the Basement I happily recommend Marty Gerber to anyone looking for a good and tactful editor with exceptional skills. He patiently and thoughtfully asked questions until virtually every word in the manuscript read sensibly. Marty’s command of the English language is exceptional. —Sharon Fried Author of Heart & Soil |
